The following topics will be presented at the Fall Conference:  An update on the recently issued Report of the State of the Internal Audit Profession, an extensive discussion of Best Practices in the Revenue Cycle, and a program for a comprehensive assessment of internal controls.  We will also have a discussion on the “Better Practices for RAC Audits.”  This will include strategies for controlling the audit process and meeting all deadlines for submissions and appeals.  We will have a discussion of a comprehensive review of Billing/Coding and Data Mining.  A practitioner will present a practical and thorough approach to auditing the CDM.  Finally in the Compliance arena, a litigator will discuss his practice of representing whistleblowers in state and Federal False Claims Acts and the “Rising tide of Whistleblowing”.  We will have a detailed description of how to complete a comprehensive assessment of a Healthcare Compliance Program.  We will have a discussion by a State Senator of the impact of Healthcare Reform both nationally and regionally.  Additionally, we will have a presentation of “The Compliance Outlook for 2012.”
