NEW ENGLAND HEALTHCARE INTERNAL AUDITORS, INC.

Brief History
In the 80's (circa 1985), a band of auditors came together to form one of the first healthcare specific internal auditing organizations in the United States.  The purpose of the organization was simple - to provide the very best in healthcare internal auditing education at a reasonable cost.  Moss Granfield (current co-president) was involved as a founding father.  Other organizational pioneer included Bob McDonald of New England Memorial Hospital, George Kuselias of Baystate Medical Center and Ken Spence of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.  NEHIA was a success from the start by providing low-cost education specific to healthcare auditing at a conference in the spring and fall of each year.

Besides knowledge-exchange presentations, the conferences included occasions to network.  The early social events were held in a hotel hospitality room with self-serve beverages and snacks.  In the 90’s, conference attendees were bussed to
Newport RI mansions for tours and presentations.  Wait staff served drinks and hors d'oeuvres.  Today, the opportunities to network with peers continues and is “price-less”.  Conference attendee come from all over the United States.  To join our mailing list, complete the "Contact Us" form.
